Though I am rather new to artistic doll making, I have been involved in art and craft projects nearly all my life. I considered myself mainly a painter until 2006 when I began making one of a kind Barbie dolls. I soon found that I wanted to make the entire doll, not just the clothes!

In January of 2007 I found the Indy Cloth Dollmakers. I had no idea of the scope of doll making!!! I have discovered that each doll has a mind of her own. You start with an idea/vision and where she takes you is the fun and challenge of doll making.

Along the way, I have become a "bead-a-holic"! You can never have too many beads!!!! They are all so beautiful that you just have to bring them all home.

My first doll was "Miss. Gilda Lilly". She is rather shy and demure. Then came "Isadora". She evolved from the fabric I used, and then I decided to add just a few beads. She ended up nearly covered in beads! Next came the "Three Spirits", from a workshop with Pearl Moon. And then there is "Dancine Degas" from a workshop with Fran Meehan. Oh yes, there is an "Art Chair" from a workshop with Jean Bernard. My last doll to date is our club's 2008 Challenge, a monochromatic doll. My color was olive, and "Olivia, A Woodland Fairy" is the result.

There are many more dolls living in my head. Sometimes I can't sleep from all the racket they make! There is always a new doll just around the corner. Doll making is a wonderful and chal lenging voyage of discovery.
