Self taught artist using recycled material for paintings, sculptures and (recently) art dolls. Born in Indy .
Creating art off and on all my life-worked local amateur and professional theater for 15 years as stage manager/light & sound tech/costumes/props/even set construction, began concentrating on art pieces about 5-6 years ago. Can see a doll, or a painting, or whatever emerge by looking at the material and what it wants to be. I see beauty where others see junk or trash. Get it honest from grandfather who built entire large amusement park with rides (one Ferris wheel over 4ft. high) and midway from junk metal/gears/rope/wheels etc-given to him or found in trash.
Have arthritis in hands which is painful but nothing makes me happier than to see things emerge from the shell of the “junk” into art or a doll so I have learned to work around problems.
Members of the Indy Cloth Doll Club have been so supportive and barrels of fun! Also participate in Freecycle Indy group where I’ve found lots of material.
